Arts Administration Internship

ACAW announces an internship opportunity for interested candidates in the arts management / administration field. Graduate students are welcome to apply!

ASIAN CONTEMPORARY ART WEEK (ACAW) is a dynamic platform that brings together leading New York and Asia-based art institutions, museums and galleries to present cutting-edge exhibitions, innovative projects, provocative dialogues on current topics, and networking opportunities to help promote awareness and appreciation of Asian contemporary art in the United States.

This internship position is available immediately

Job Description:
Coordination assistance of a renowned annual/biennial event in New York City, which involves the participation of over 40 Museums and Galleries in a week long program of exhibitions, lectures, screenings, receptions and more. Tasks may include over all project coordination, marketing, promotions, and general office and administrative support such as maintaining schedules, managing files, entering data, preparing mailings, researching for outreach/sponsorship, and developing content for website and website maintenance.

Hours:
Applicants must be available to work a minimum of two days per week. This is an unpaid internship, however it offers extraordinary hands on experience working with a variety of professionals in the field.

Qualifications:
Strong communication skills, computer literacy (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Internet, Photoshop, and Illustrator); self-motivated, independent worker, great overall interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of In Design, HTML, and WordPress is a plus. Applicants must demonstrate interest in arts administration, marketing, education, and or Asian Contemporary Art.

ACAW announces an internship opportunity for candidates interested in Fundraising and Development for non-profit arts organizations. Graduate students or those with 1-2 years experience in the field are welcome to apply.

ASIAN CONTEMPORARY ART WEEK (ACAW) is a dynamic platform that brings together leading New York and Asia-based art institutions, museums and galleries to present cutting-edge exhibitions, innovative projects, provocative dialogues on current topics, and networking opportunities to help promote awareness and appreciation of Asian contemporary art in the United States.

Job Description:

Coordination assistance of a renowned annual/biennial event in New York City, which involves the participation of over 40 Museums and Galleries in a week long program of exhibitions, lectures, screenings, receptions and more. Tasks include researching foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants; preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.

• Develop and execute ACAW’s fundraising plan
• Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations
• Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with ACAW Consortium Members, major donors & foundations
• Creating and executing a strategy for a large sustained base of individual donors
• Developing and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising

Hours:

Applicants must be available to work a minimum of two days per week. This internship offers extraordinary hands on experience working with a variety of professionals in the field. You will be provided with a stipend for this internship.

Qualifications:

• BA / Undergraduate Degree required, Masters Degree is a plus
• 1-2 years previous experience in non-profit development / fundraising and proposal writing
• Strong written communication / editing skills; attention to detail, ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
• Knowledge of fundraising information sources.
• Self-motivated, independent worker
• Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Internet)
• Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator a plus
