Turn It On: China on Film, 2000-2017


As public program for Art and China after 1989: Theater of the World, the 10-week festival presents twenty independent documentaries by China’s most daring artists and filmmakers that investigate the political, social, economic and cultural conditions of contemporary China. Co-curated by Ai Weiwei and Wang Fen, with twice weekly daytime screenings and three featured evening events, the screenings featured filmmakers include Ai Xiaoming, Huang Wenhai, Tang Danhong, Wang Jiuliang, and Zhang Zanbo, among others.
Evening screenings on October 13 includes a q&a session with the filmmaker and require advance tickets. Daytime screenings are free with museum admission. For more information and tickets, visit guggenheim.org/filmscreenings.
