In Conversation with Lee Mingwei

Since the mid-1990s, Taiwan-born, New York- and Paris-based Lee Mingwei has captured the public imagination with participatory installations that engage audiences in myriad, unexpected ways. This conversation between Lee Mingwei and H.G. Masters, editor-at-large of ArtAsiaPacific magazine, will explore Lee’s past and recent projects, including Sonic Blossom (2015), taking place in The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Modern and Contemporary Art and Asian Art galleries (October 30 -November 8). The discussion will also delve into Lee Mingwei’s interest in individuals’ stories and personal histories, which he incorporates into his projects, as well as the connections between the practice of performance art and interactive art.
